Course overview

What will be covered

Our Mask Fit Testing sessions provide essential certification for individuals needing respirator mask fit testing for work or school requirements. We conduct Qualitative Fit Testing (QFLT) one-on-one or in group sessions pre-scheduled across various locations. This certification aligns with Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) standards and Canadian CSA-Z94 regulations for respiratory protection.

Participants are certified with a 2-year certification card upon successful completion. Sessions last approximately one hour, with limited capacity per session.

Course contents & participant information

Please review these requirements before your session. Failure to meet them may result in being unable to complete the test.

Facial hair guidelines

Male participants must be clean-shaven (no beards; mustaches are acceptable) to meet CDC guidelines. Non-compliance may result in denied entry.

Dietary restrictions

Avoid eating, drinking (except water), smoking, or chewing gum for at least 15 minutes prior to testing.

Required documents

Complete the “Qualitative Mask Fit Test Participant Form” from your email confirmation at the start of your session.

Punctuality

Arrive on time to avoid disruptions. Late arrivals may be refused entry, as sessions begin as a group.

How long it takes

Mask Fit Testing typically takes 15 to 30 minutes per person to complete.
This includes a brief orientation, donning of the mask, and a qualitative fit test, depending on the mask type and workplace requirements.
Group sessions can be organized for on-site testing or at our training location.
Certification details

What the card covers

Certification applies to N95, half-face, or full-face respirators, covering essential areas like mask inspection, limitations, donning, seal check, and proper mask disposal. Certifications are valid for two years. N95 masks (medical-grade 3M) are not provided unless pre-ordered. Only medical-grade masks are used.
