Intermediate First Aid replaces Standard First Aid — a comprehensive course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training that will leave you feeling secure and confident to respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situation, with CPR/AED Level C included. You will learn the lifesaving skills needed to respond to a first aid emergency and how to manage illness and injuries until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive. Skills covered include first aid, relief of choking in adults, children and infants, and recognizing and responding to sudden cardiac arrest.

You will learn the lifesaving skills needed to respond to a first aid emergency and how to manage illness and injuries until emergency medical services (EMS) / a professional rescuer arrive at the scene.
Instructors use presentations and skills demonstrations to teach critical skills and provide hands-on practice sessions. Participants receive coaching and feedback to facilitate their learning experience in a fun, engaging and dynamic environment.
First Aid with CPR & AED courses were developed in accordance with the recommendations from the International First Aid and Resuscitation Guidelines. This course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards (WSIB) and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. It is for those who have a duty to respond to first aid and cardiac emergencies because of work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home and in the community.

This course is for anyone who wants comprehensive first aid and CPR/AED training for the workplace or home — including those who have a duty to respond to first aid and cardiac emergencies because of work requirements, and anyone who wants more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home and in the community.
It meets Ontario WSIB workplace requirements under Regulation 1101 for staff who need Intermediate First Aid (Standard First Aid) certification with CPR/AED Level C.
Online + in-class skills
The blended learning course consists of an online component and an in-classroom component. The online portion allows you to review difficult topics in community CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) use at your own pace and improve your performance at the hands-on skill session. Upon completion of the online CPR & First Aid portion, you must complete a hands-on CPR training skills session with a certified instructor in the classroom.
Fully instructor-led
In-classroom training means you are with a certified instructor for your entire learning experience. The instructor teaches community CPR and AED using presentations and skills demonstrations, observing participants and providing guidance and feedback to facilitate the learning experience in a fun and friendly environment.
